Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to assist with the management of Cardiac patients in the hospital. In this role, the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will assist the Physicians with patients that have been admitted into the Cardiac Service by the cardiologists through the admission of patients, patient rounds, consults, history and physicals, discharges and other duties within their scope of practice.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with cardiovascular issues, including history taking and physical examinations.
- Consult with physician team to develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and evidence-based guidelines.
- Order diagnostic procedures such as EKG's, echocardiograms, and cardiac stress tests.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding cardiac health, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
- Prescribe medications and treatments as appropriate within the APP's scope of practice.
- Provide peri-operative and post-operative care for inpatient and outpatient procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in accordance with regulatory standards and facility policies.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing Masters program or Masters of Medical Science Physician Assistant Studies.
- Tennessee RN & NP/PA Licensure
- One-three years experience in cardiac care is preferred.
- Strong skills in medical documentation and familiarity with electronic health record systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong interpersonal abilities to work effectively with diverse patient populations.
- Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to providing compassionate care while always maintaining professionalism.
