Tennessee Heart at Cookeville Regional Medical Center broke ground in December on its 20,000-square-foot expansion. This expansion at their Cookeville office will include a larger cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation center, create more exam rooms for cardiology patients, and bring the existing Cookeville Regional Medical Group cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon’s office into the building where they will be able to see their patients.

“We are thrilled about this expansion for our patients and future patients. It has been a vision for a long time for me and my fellow cardiologists at Tennessee Heart,” said Dr. Stacy Brewington, Interventional cardiologist at Tennessee Heart. “Our practice has grown tremendously as we now have 13 cardiologists. The new expansion will also have enough space for the cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons to hold exam rooms and office space at Tennessee Heart. We are excited to offer a larger cardiac rehab with a walking track. Parking will be behind the building once the construction is complete, and we look forward to the completion of the expansion in around 18 months.”

The current Tennessee Heart building is around 23,000 square feet with 13 cardiologists and a fully staffed cardiac and pulmonary rehab on the first floor. This expansion will bring the total square feet to 43,000.

“This is truly needed in our community,” said Buffy Key, CEO at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. “The heart care our cardiologists provide is the absolute best. We are beating the national 62-minute average of stopping a heart attack. CRMC’s average is 40 minutes. This is outstanding and life-saving, and it would not be possible without the incredible work our cardiologists and heart and vascular staff do every day. The cardiologists are committed and passionate about their patients and provide the highest quality of heart care in the region. We congratulate them on this expansion.”
