Dr. Wathen started the electrophysiology program at Tennessee Heart and Cookeville Regional Medical Center. His sub-specialization is the study of heart rhythms. He is an expert in pacemakers, defibrillators and implanted monitors. Dr. Wathen has performed significant research in these devices and is recognized as a world leader in device treatment of fast and slow rhythms. Dr. Wathen is active in the Eagle Scouts and Boy Scouts as well as an avid golfer. He joined Tennessee Heart in 2010.
